Health Data Consent

This page is our health data notice. It explains what you consent to when you tick the health data box, and adds to the Privacy Policy, which covers everything else.
What we collect
What you eat and drink, and your body measurements and goals, can reveal information about your health. In SelfCtrl that is:
- meal photos and notes you submit;
- profile details you add, such as sex, age, height, weight, activity level and goals;
- information we derive from these, such as nutrition estimates and totals.
It comes from you, or is produced by the Service from what you provide.
Why we use it
To provide SelfCtrl to you: to estimate the nutrition in your meals, show your history and totals, and suggest and track your goals. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
Who receives it
Service providers that host and process it on our behalf, under contract and only to run the Service. One of them is a third-party AI provider, which receives the meal content you submit, and information derived from it, to produce estimates. We do not use your data to train AI models, and we only use AI providers whose terms rule out training theirs on it. We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to. You can ask us for a list of the providers that receive it.
Your consent, and withdrawing it
Your explicit consent is our only legal basis for processing this data. You give it by ticking a separate box before you log a meal, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Because nearly everything SelfCtrl holds about you is health data, withdrawing your consent means we can no longer process any of it, including storing it, so withdrawing consent closes your account and deletes your data. To withdraw, delete your account from the Account page (in the Profile menu), exporting your meal history first if you want a copy. Withdrawing doesn't affect processing that happened before.
Keeping it, and your rights
We keep it while your account exists. You can view it in the app, export it, and delete it with your account at any time. Your other rights, and how to use them, are in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects your consent, we will give it a new version number and ask for your consent again before you log another meal.
